Privacy Policy
The short version: we do not collect personal information about you, and the tools on this site run in your own browser.
Last updated: July 2026
ChineseZodiac.com is a free reference and entertainment site about the Chinese zodiac. It has no accounts to create, no newsletter to join, and no forms that ask for your personal details. Because there is nothing to sign up for, there is very little for us to know about you, and this policy explains the little that there is.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal information, and we have no way to store it. We do not run advertising, we do not sell or share data about you, and we do not set tracking cookies that follow you across other websites.
The calculators run in your browser
The zodiac calculator, compatibility checker, birth-chart (Four Pillars) reader, and personality quiz do their math inside your web browser, and we never save the birthday you type in — it is not written to any database and no account or profile is built from it.
One honest exception: the share and link features. If you copy a share link, open a deep link, or generate a profile card, the birth date you entered becomes part of the page's web address (for example ?m=3&d=14&y=1988) so the link can show the right sign and preview image. Anyone you send that address to can see the date in it, and our server briefly processes it to draw the shared page and its preview card when the link is opened. We do not log or keep those dates. If you would rather keep a birthday out of the address bar entirely, simply don't use the share features for that reading.
Aggregate, cookieless analytics
To understand which pages people find useful, we use Vercel Web Analytics. It measures traffic in aggregate, such as how many people viewed a page and roughly where in the world visits come from. It is privacy-friendly by design: it does not use cookies and does not build a profile that identifies you as an individual. We see totals and trends, not people.
Cookies
The live public site does not set tracking cookies. The only cookie the site can set is a small sign-in cookie used to unlock private preview versions of the site while they are still being worked on. It is never set on the public chinesezodiac.com site you are reading now, only on internal preview addresses.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel, which like any web host automatically processes basic request information (such as your IP address) in order to serve pages and keep the service secure and reliable. This is standard infrastructure logging and is not used to identify or track you.
Children
Our kids and classroom pages are designed to be safe for young readers. They contain no forms, no sign-ups, and no data collection of any kind. Teachers and families can use them freely without anyone submitting personal information.
Your choices
Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to look up, correct, or delete on request. If you would rather not be counted even in anonymous totals, you can use your browser's privacy settings or a tracker-blocking extension, and the site will work exactly the same.
Changes to this policy
If the site ever starts collecting information, for example by adding a newsletter or a comment feature, we will update this page first and describe plainly what changed. Until then, this policy reflects how the site works today.
