Zodiac Coloring Pages
Pick your favorite zodiac animal and print a beautiful coloring page! Each one features a traditional Chinese paper-cutting design.
For Teachers & Parents
These Chinese zodiac coloring pages are designed in the traditional paper-cutting (jianzhi) style, one of the oldest art forms in Chinese culture. Each page features a different zodiac animal with decorative patterns inspired by real Chinese paper-cut art.
All coloring pages are completely free to print and use in classrooms, homeschool settings, or at home. They make wonderful activities for Chinese New Year celebrations, cultural studies units, or just a fun afternoon!
How to use: Click any animal above, then use the "Print This Page" button. The printable version hides the navigation and shows only the coloring illustration with the animal's name in traceable text.
For young children, coloring is quietly doing a great deal. Guiding a crayon along the curve of a rabbit's ear or filling in a dragon's scales builds the fine motor control that later supports handwriting, while staying inside the lines asks for the kind of steady focus that grows with practice. Many children find the activity calming, a settled and absorbing way to spend time.
It is also a gentle doorway into something larger. As a child chooses colors for the ox or the tiger, it is natural to wonder why these particular animals, and that curiosity opens onto the story of the Great Race and the long tradition behind the Chinese zodiac. For a child between about 5 and 12, an animal that began as a page to color can become a character with a place in line, a story to retell, and a first warm connection to a culture's heritage.
